That looks huge fun, I'd like to see something like that here.

Perhaps I should have said "here in the UK", I'm not sure but I don't think we have anything quite like that here. It's hard enough getting the authorities to put on Road Race Events and Police them properly, as I understand it thecost of the policing is often prohibitive and there is a marked reluctance to close the roads. So putting together an event like the Urban Rage Mountain Bike Assault would be near impossible. Closing all those pedestrian areas etc, people here would scream their heads off at the closure of their right of way, however temporary. It's not just cost, it's an attitude problem as well. Here MTB'rs have little or no representation/voice in local government or at national level.

We'd almost certainly have to change the name, I can just hear the authorities getting upset about that title, they'd more than likely want to change the name to "The Family Fun Day Bike Ride" or some other such drivel! It would be great to put together an event like this in the UK, but unless we could find an open minded local authority to assist in staging it I can't see it happening here. Of course now I've said that, someone somewhere will tell me that it has already been done or that it's about to be done somewhere here in the UK soon!

I can't believe i watched this whole thing. i kept thinking to myself 'there's gonna be a great jump coming up', but it was a pretty lame race for x-country riders
