i use to have the specialized and never had a problem with it. Mountain bike action recently tested the new giant remote seatpost and gave it great review. Thats the one im looking at next.

I have been using the Kind Shock ks 950 with remote for the past year, works well seems durable. I like the infinitely adjustable 5" of travel it helps to compensate for a lot of variables, shorts, liners, shoes etc.

Lock the collar down tight enough-- when loose it tends to have the problem described. (Assuming u have already checked its not a cable issue, sometimes when the housing gets wedged slightly somewhere and the end is not sitting flush into the little nub/ or not enough tension in the rear it causes the same problem)

Unlock the collar and slap lots of Slick Honey under and lock it back. Works wonders on the smoothness of moving the post up/down plus it delays maintenance time between stripping the post down.

The collar is well tightened and cable and housing are ok, i'll try to add grease under the lock.
    Thanks for your advice.
