    Default Osprey Packs

Anyone have any experiencing with their products. Reviews look really good on them. Was looking at the Zealot and the Raptor in the 10 liter sizes. Zealot looks maybe a tad bigger than what I really need, but might come in a bit handy on the longer day rides. Any opinions out there?

Just picked up my 3rd and by far the best Camelbak MULE. Can't imagine a bag that is better. I know this doesn't directly answer your question. But just thought I'd share my love for the MULE. Early Xmas present from my awesome wife.

No, that helps. I looked at them last night and had leaned more toward the Osprey, but with a recommendation like that I'll take another look at them. Thanks!

I didn't care for the Osprey pack I demo'd at Outerbike but I love the bladder. I ended up buying a Wingnut and adding the Osprey Hydra Form Bladder. It's the most comfortable pack I've owned, and I've had a few beginning with the very first Camelback.

Of course, I did make some comprimises for the comfort. The bladder lacks a quick-release at the hose/bladder connection which makes cleaning harder. The pack doesn't have as many pockets and places to store and organize stuff.

Do you know what the name of the Osprey pack that you tried was called? Seems like the packs are either, carry to much stuff with you or just a hydration pack. I'd like something in between. Thanks for the input. I'll check out the Wingnut, I'm pretty sure I saw that pack mentioned on another site I was looking at.

I have an Osprey backpack that I use for day hikes and riding my motorcycle. It is supper comfortable and I think that the bladder is 10x better than the one in my mule. The one I have is to big for most mountain bike rides, I might use it if I was doing an all day ride and needed lots of water and food.

I love the Osprey pack that we reviewed. However, the cut patterns make it so that you have to get the biggest pack to have any kind of storage space. Luckily, their packs are lighter than the offerings from CamelBak. The best thing about the pack is that it doesn't bubble off your back like the CamelBak's do when fully loaded up with water. The magnetic hose attachment is a nice touch as well.

A little off track, but check out the Salomon "trail running" pack/vest, everything I have read about this pack is 5 stars.
Trail Runners say the pack is light and moves with them better than the "other" packs.

Hint: would make a nice Bike198 Demo product. ;-)
