    Default Fox shock RP2 Maintenance

Does anyone know how to remove the eyelets from a RP2 without messing them up? It's on a Trek HiFi Deluxe.

    Thanks!

Do you want to remove the Eyelets? or the DU Bushings? The DU busings are pressed into the eyelets of the shock, and are an item that frequently wears out, causing a loose rear-end. They are cheap to replace, and can usually be pushed out in a vise using a 10mm socket against the bushing, and a bigger one(that the bushing can slide into) against the back of the eylet. First you will have to remove the reducers, which can be done by hand if the DU bushing is really worn, or a pair of channel lock pliers and some wiggling shoud do it. Be careful not to damage the eyelet. Push the new one in using the vice (use a rag or soft jaws to avoid damaging the eyelet or the new bushing. The reducers should now feel tight when you push them back in. If they still feel loose, go to your local bike shop and have them replaced, you need to get the right width and bolt diameter. They cost a little more than bushings .
To replace the eyelet itself (If that is really what you want to do,) needs to be done buy a certified Fox service center, or buy Fox itself.
