    Default riding off curbs

ok, kinda embarrassed to ask this as I have been road biking for some time, but I come from mountain biking. Is it ok to jump my road bike off curbs? I occasionally commute to work (actually, just part of the way, I would get run over if I left from my house) and ride a multiuse path by my office. Cutting over to my office, there are no curb cuts so I have been gently walking my bike into the road but wondering if I can just ride off the curb. Wheels are Mavic Cosmos and I'm only about a buck fifty so I think it would be ok but I would hate to damage a wheel.

    thanks
    chaz

Should be fine. Just don't launch off. Roll easy.

I agree...you'll be fine. If you have to ride up a curb, be more cautious. But road wheels are fairly strong. Most cyclocross wheels are high end carbon wheels and they hold up just fine.
